Evanescence's Amy Lee has revealed she's not a fan of shows like The X Factor. The 29-year-old frontwoman, who co-founded the rock group with teenage friend Ben Moody, prefers to watch potential musical hopefuls evolve on their own, without the help of a TV show. "I'm not a big fan, I have to be honest. It's really not my thing," she said. "I'm just a fan of people creating their own thing. I'm not digging on it and I don't follow it." The band has just released their third album, the self-titled Evanescence, after a five-year hiatus. Amy, who introduced the Red Hot Chili Peppers' performance at the MTV European Music Awards in Belfast, explained: "This is the first album that the full band was involved in, creatively and I think that gives it a new power and energy. "I don't like to have a plan. At first, I was just doing my thing, I got married in 2007 and didn't know what the plan was for Evanescence. But I kind of discovered that Evanescence is a giant part of me and I missed it." She added: "Writing happens whether I want to or not so I started writing some material with the band, until we got the stuff we have now."
