Big thanks to all of Amy Lee's fans who rocked up for her live chat tonight. Take a look through the chat below to go through all the questions asked and what Amy had to say. Amy Lee is the lead singer of Evanescence, and will be performing at Vector Arena in Auckland on 31 March. Evanescence will be at JB Hi Fi on Queen St, Auckland on Saturday 31 March between 1-3pm if you would like to meet the band. AmyLeeEV: AHA! I think I'm in the right place now. HI GUYS!
minisara1: Hi Amy! What would be your favorite song to perform live now? AmyLeeEV: Hi! That's a tough one. We started playing Swimming Home live a couple of months ago and its really taken on its own life in the show. I love playing it, it's definitely a moment I look forward to. Arnold: Have you been watching "The Walking Dead" on TV? AmyLeeEV: YES!!!! The Walking Dead is one of my favorite shows right now! EvMj7: Holy shit! I can't believe it! I don't know if you can see this but I'm speechless right now :O AmyLeeEV: Cool. Me too, technically. It's nice not to have to talk for an interview for a change! ;) FabianR-Argentina: what is your favorite pizza? AmyLeeEV: Plain cheese! Its the true New York way Chippey: Hey Amy! Saw you at the meet n greet in singapore, just wondering, what was the quiet song you played on piano during soundcheck, I hadn't heard it before?! AmyLeeEV: I was either practicing singing My Last Breath and playing along or just making stuff up. I think I did both that day. Fiorezr Cba-Argentina: hey amy, thanks for this moment. what are your 3 favorite things in the world? AmyLeeEV: Good music, good wine, good friends Olivia Quigan: Hi amy, My question is, where does the inspiration for your songs come from, your songs are all so Passionate AmyLeeEV: Inspiration comes from everywhere. Lyrics are me working on myself, picking my heart apart and reading too much into my subconscious. When something hurts, or just makes me feel strongly I get inspired to spill my guts. It feels really good to pour my heart out into the songs and then be able to listen back and enjoy it. It feels like overcoming the problem, at least a little, by describing it really intensely. sofi: Hi Amy, is true that you're planning to collab with apocalyptica?? AmyLeeEV: no Fatz: do you ever plan on doing a song with Korn? AmyLeeEV: Well I did sing with Korn on an acoustic performance of Freak on a Leash a couple of years ago. I think it was really cool, if you haven't heard it you can find it on itunes or youtube Nathan Warren: Hey Amy! Just wonder can you do My Immortal at your Auckland concert? :) AmyLeeEV: Of course we will play My Immortal in Auckland :) SergioEv21: Amy, I know, You're a huge fan from Björk, I'm a huge fan too... and now... I like Crystalline madison: Hey amy, I've noticed your voice has gotten a lot stronger in your recent album, it sounds fuller and more powerful, have you done anything to make it sound better than it use to be? Oh and what is your favorite music video of evanescence? AmyLeeEV: Thanks! I think just belting it out at a million shows has made my voice stronger over the years. Tinorfing: Who is your idol ? AmyLeeEV: My idols are: Michael Jackson, Bjork, Trent Reznor, Tori Amos, Janis Joplin, Mozart, Kurt Cobain, Mark Ryden, Alexander McQueen.... immortallullaby: Have you ever thought you could write a book ? Is this one of your project for the future ? AmyLeeEV: That would be cool. My sister Carrie is a really good writer and we've been talking about creating a sort of dark children's book of short stories, and I would do the illustrations. Just an idea right now. Won: What was your inspiration to write New Way to Bleed? It's an AMAZING song! Should have been one of the main songs on your album! AmyLeeEV: Thank you. I love that song too. Most of my inspiration for that it was out of being really pissed at my record label at the time. Its not an easy thing to make a record these days. Actually I was just checking out a remix of the song by Photek, they're planning to use it in the Avengers soundtrack album. Pretty cool! Lucas Burns: What is youre favorite nine inch nails song? AmyLeeEV: VERY good question. Very hard question. I know its one of the most popular but I think I have to say Hurt because it moved and inspired me so much. Rachel Proudfoot: Would you ever consider any of your songs to be sung on glee? just curious :P AmyLeeEV: HA! Just try to imagine how creepy that would be right now. James Morrow: When you are on tour do you ever get homesick? AmyLeeEV: We definitely get homesick on the road sometimes. Especially when you're really far away for awhile. I sometimes miss my family, my cats, my bed, my kitchen, and just not having everyday already planned out for me before I wake up Matt Reynolds: Is there a famous artist or musician that you want to meet but haven't yet? AmyLeeEV: I'd love to meet Prince, we were just talking about his awesomeness today. Also I'd like to meet Lykke Li. I think she's amazingly talented and very interesting. Joey Lee Anderson: Where is your favorite place to shop? You're everyday outfits are so cute! AmyLeeEV: There's a shoe store with super funky shoes called "Irregular Choice" that I love, I love Vivian Westwood ALOT... I think my favorite place in the world for clothes is Harejuku in Tokyo. Totally creative Nekal Doe: What do you think of the movie Labyrinth and/or David Bowie? AmyLeeEV: ARE YOU KIDDING? LOVE!!!! Should have listed Jim Henson as one of my idols because he is. That movie and the Dark Crystal are both all time favorites. sandriux118: embarrassing momment in a concert? AmyLeeEV: Once, at the end of an awesome show in Denver, as the crowd was cheering, I screamed out - "THANK YOU, DETROIT!" ...they stopped cheering then. Angela Garza: Amy, you're amazing. Your music and lyrics move me beyond words! Now: Vampires or Werewolves? AmyLeeEV: If you're talking about Twilight, I prefer Jacob. Now, beyond that, in general, I prefer Vampires.
